  • 在2020年多收的奥巴马垫底费,不需要偿还了。

  • 保费顶多是收入的8.5%。

No Rush to File for those who bought ObamaCare insurance

Due to the new changes regarding the Obama Insurance in the third round of stimulus package:

  • People received too much Obama premium credits in 2020 would not have to pay back the excess.

  • Remove the income cap that determines eligibility and increase premium credits (applicable only in 2021 and 2022).

  • Limit premiums to 8.5% of income.

Because many people receive a large amount of unemployment benefits, then their incomes increase, so they need to repay the Obama premium credits when they file their taxes. It was already miserable, and now I still need to repay premium credits. Isn't it worse? Therefore, under the new proposal, the excess premium credits would not have to pay back on the 2020 tax return.

Whether the stimulus package is passed or not, we don’t know until 3/10/2021 tomorrow.

So, what about those who have already filed their taxes? Don't be nervous, you can make changes at any time within 3 years.
